Fall Class Schedule
- Spring 2015 Intro to Mindfulness and Meditation
- Mondays 6:30 – 8 pm, 04/06 – 05/11 for 6 weeks
- Cost – $150 per person, maximum class size – 15
- This is an introductory course on the basics of mindfulness and meditation. It is suitable for anyone interested in learning practices to reduce stress and enhance well-being. No prior meditation experience is necessary. Practices will be introduced with a focus on application in everyday life.
- About the instructor – Matt Hirshberg has been practicing meditation since 1996 in Zen, Tibetan and secular mindfulness styles. He has been teaching mindfulness practices for the last 5 years. As a graduate student at the UW, Matt researches the impact of contemplative practices on attention, self-regulation and addictive and prosocial behaviors.
Bethany is a certified acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, and yoga teacher. She has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine since 2006 and teaching yoga for the last 11 years. For the last 15 years, Bethany has practiced meditation and yoga in India and in Japan, as well as here in America.
